Wardie - May 27, 1892 - October 16, 1965

Wardie Tilley, aged 73 of Holly Springs died in the Ouachita County Hospital Annex at 5:00 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Tilley was a native of Kentucky where he was born May 27, 1892. He was a retired Towerman for the Arkansas Forestry Service, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Versie Shirron Tilley; three sons, James G. Tilley of Camden, Jimmy Key and Tommy Key both of Holly Springs; four brothers, Hoff Tilley of Clay, Ky., Nelson Tilley of Sebree, Ky., Audie Tilley, and Roy Tilley both of Camden; two sisters, Mrs. Hassie Adamson of Sebree, Ky., and Mrs. Earlene Leggett of Dixon, Ky.; and by two grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Holly Springs Methodist Church. Burial was in the Holly Springs cemetery by Proctor Funeral Service. (Camden News - October 18, 1965)
