Son of Ralph and Nellie Glass Wallis.
Husband of Edna M. Wallis (Married June 19, 1947).

Gordon R. Wallis 91, of Horseshoe Bend died Sept. 13, 2006, at his residence. He was born Oct. 4, 1914, in McHenry County, Ill., the son of the late Ralph and Nellie Glass Wallis. He served his country in the United States Army. He spent his working years in metal polishing at the Woodstock Die Casting Company.

He was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 344, life member of Loyal Order of Moose Woodstock, Ill., life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Woodstock, Ill., Post 5040 and a member of the National AARP. He could be seen at all the area VFWs dancing with his friends and loved to travel.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna; and a sister, Helen Hensley.

Graveside services were held Sept. 15 at the Violet Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
