Harris, Willard "Chig"
Willard "Chig" Harris, age 76, of Dardanelle, died Friday, February 28, 2003 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born August 5, 1926 at Casa, Arkansas and was a son of the late Elmer and Mittie Blankenship Harris. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired construction heavy equipment operator and devoted family man. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His hobbies were his grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Joe Harris; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wanez Harris; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty Robertson, Helen and Darrell Nuckols, Faye and Clyde Parks, Karen and Kenny Ford, all of Dardanelle; three brothers and two sisters; six grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, Kacey and David Johnson, Tonya and Robert Tippit, Bradley Nuckols, Tarin Underwood, Zach Underwood and Nathaniel Ford, all of Dardanelle; two great-grandchildren, Colter and Hannah Duhon of Dardanelle; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Monday, March 3, 2003 at Shinn Chapel with Bill McClure officiating. Burial was in Casa Cemetery at Casa, Arkansas, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
