Mrs. Emma Riggs Launius, aged 71 of Shreveport, Louisiana formerly of Ouachita County, and widow of Mitchell Launius died in Shreveport Saturday morning. Mrs. Launius had been making her home with her son, Charles L. Launius in Shreveport for the past 17 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Banks of Shreveport; three brothers, Bill Riggs, and J. D. Riggs both of Fort Worth, Texas; and Ruel Riggs of Beaumont, Texas; and by two grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Holly Springs Methodist Church by Rev. Robert Jackson. Burial was in the Holly Springs cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Casket bearers were, Jack Riggs, Alfred Riggs, Ferrell Dodson, Jewell House, Raymond Greer, Eulan Sorrels, and Cleo Riggs. (Camden News - March 9, 1964)
