Leander M. Launius, age 60, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Banks, at Shreveport, La., at 12:00 noon Monday. He had been in ill health for several months. Mr. Launius was a life-time resident of Holly Springs. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Launius, of Holly Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Banks of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Mason of Smackover, Mrs. Zola Sorrels and Mrs. Bessie Dodson, both of Holly Springs; one brother, Quincey Launius of Sheridan, and one grandson. Funeral services at the Holly Springs Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday conducted by Rev. Small, with burial in Holly Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Pete Mosely, Olen Proctor; Cleo Alexander, A. J. Taylor, Cleo Riggs, and Frank Broadnax. Honorary pallbearers: Eugene Dodson, Bert Launius, Fred Launius, Jim Bo Launius Waymon Launius, and Ferrell Dodson. Proctor's in charge. (Camden News - March 18, 1947)
