Married Stephen Martin Seibert, Jr., July 14, 1949, Blue Grass, Scott County, Iowa.

SALEM, Ark. Dorothea L. Seibert, 91, of Salem, Arkansas, daughter of the late Andrew and Gladys Elsa (Ditto) Simmons, was born on February 28, 1917, in Muscatine, Iowa. She departed this life on January 28, 2009, at Salem.

Dorothea was united in marriage to Stephen Martin Seibert, Jr. on July 14, 1949, at Blue Grass, Iowa. Dorothea and Stephen moved to Horseshoe Bend, Ark., in 1976, from Bettendorf.

She was a member of several lodges and clubs, Royal Neighbors of America, Pithian Sisters, Eastern Star, Eagles and Tel-A-Care of Horseshoe Bend. She and her late husband Stephen were active members of the St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend. She enjoyed playing the organ, planting and growing flowers, knitting and other activities.

She leaves to mourn her passing: four sons, William C. Seibert of Port Orchard, Wash., Kenneth Froeschle of Bettendorf, Martin T. Seibert of Dewitt, Iowa, and David P. Seibert Sr. of Horseshoe Bend; one daughter, Marlene Main of Virginia, Minn.; one sister, Sina B. Tabor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, many brothers and sisters.

A memorial Mass and Rosary will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend, under the direction of the Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, with Father Marks officiating.

An additional local memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6 at 9 a.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, 722, 8th St., DeWitt, IA.

Note: Her maiden name was spelled Simmons in some documents and Symmonds in others.
