January 11, 1932 - March 3, 2009
Billy Earl Parker, 77, of Rison, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock. He was born January 11, 1932 in Rison, a son of the late Claude Parker and Anna Jones Parker. Mr. Parker graduated from Rison High School in 1950. He married Estelle Cooper on November 9, 1957. Mr. Parker was a member of Culpepper Masonic Lodge Number 186, and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a retired accountant and business owner. Mr. Parker was a member of Rison United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by an uncle, Frank Parker.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife Estelle Cooper Parker of Rison; one daughter, Suzi Parker of Little Rock.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 7, 2009 at Rison United Methodist Church in Rison with Reverend Dr. Michael Mattox, Reverend Mary Jane Cole and Reverend James Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Blanchard, Jerry Spakes, Gary Weed, Jim Medley, Allen Haymond and Bill Tanner. Honorary pallbearers are Rufus T. Buie, Jack Winston, Paul Bray, Billy Jacks, James Post. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p. m, Friday, March 6, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Chapter of the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison
