Dorothy Mae Burton, 78, of Knoxville, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at her daughter's home in Winslow, AR. The daughter of Doyle and Velma Caulwell Alderson, she was born April 23, 1930 in Ontario, California. She received a Home Economics degree from Arkansas Tech University. She retired from the Singer Factory in Clarksville. She was a member of the Knoxville City Council and the Garden Club of Clarksville. She was an active member of the Knoxville First Baptist Church where she sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School Class and helped with various activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe V. Burton; her parents and one brother, Wilburn Alderson.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Hudson & husband Ronnie of Charlotte, North Carolina, Donna Reed & husband Gary of Winslow; five grandchildren, Larissa Reed of Van Buren, Renner Reed of Little Rock, Joy Osuch & husband Steve of Knoxville, Ronnie Hudson & wife Leigh of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Mary Hudson of Charlotte, North Carolina; two great grandsons, Cody Osuch of Knoxville, Lucas Hudson of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; two cousins, Bruce Miller of Alma and Lloyd Miller of Fayetteville.

Funeral service to celebrate her life, will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Knoxville First Baptist Church with Bro. Don Roy Hankins, Bro. Ira Taylor, Bro. Richard Snyder, Bro. Ron Hudson and Bro. Ronnie Hudson officiating. Burial will be at Knoxville Cemetery at Knoxville by Humphrey Funeral Service.
