Everett Dempsey, age 61, died at his home in Whelen Springs on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Dempsey was born at Lester April 5, 1894. He had been living at Whelen Springs for the past seven years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Gould, Arkansas. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iva Minnie Tunnell Dempsey; two daughters, Mrs. Billy Jean Hastings of Gurdon and Mrs. Clarence Harper of Hope; three sons, J. B. and Charles Dempsey of Whelen Springs and Mickey Dempsey of Gurdon; one sister, Mrs. Katherine O'Gee of Lester; and Four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Whelen Springs Baptist church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday by Rev. Paul Regland pastor. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. The body was carried to the home at Whelen Springs this afternoon. (Camden News - July 22, 1955)
