John Alexander McKinnon, aged 83, died at the home of his step-son Whit Fraser, in Cullendale Thursday afternoon. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorcas McKinnon; three stepsons, Gus Fraser of Magnolia, Tom of Mooeringsport, La., and Whit of Cullendale; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Bessie Merritt of Route 3, Stephens. Funeral service and burial was held at 2:30 p.m. today at Bethesda Cemetery, with Rev. Bragg Adams officiating. Active pallbearers, Homer Lusby, Ernest Merritt, Jack Watson, Bert Allen, Ferrell Lusby, and Carlton Watson. Mathis Funeral Home in charge. (Camden News - March 12, 1948)
