Jannie Bernice Powell of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, daughter of Edsel Powell and Darlene Campbell Jackson was born September 26, 1950 in Corkin, California. She died February 10, 1994 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Cherokee Village, Arkansas at the age of 43 years.

Ms. Powell worked as a L.P.N. at North Arkansas Life Care in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and was a Baptist.

Ms. Powell is survived by one daughter, Robin Todd of Horseshoe Bend; two sons, Robert Cecil Denny of Collinsville, Oklahoma and David Edsel Denny of Hot Springs, Arkansas; mother and step-father, Darlene and Marvin Jackson of Franklin, Arkansas; father Edsel Powell of Mountain View, Arkansas; one brother, Richard David Powell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three granddaughters and one grandson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Services were February 13, 1994 at Howard Chapel in Melbourne, Arkansas, with Noble Wiles officiating.

Pallbearers were Mike Rush, Mike Richardson, Larry Jones, Terry Gaston, Shannon Washington, and Johnny Hatfield.

Interment was at Violet Hill Cemetery in Violet Hill, Arkansas, under the direction of Howard Funeral Home.
