Zelma Jones Campbell, 94, of Violet Hill died Sunday May 6, 2007 at Community Medical Center of Calico Rock, Arkansas.
She was born Saturday, January 11, 1913 at Violet Hill the daughter of Charles Albert Blevins and Grace Truman (Beaver) Blevins.
She married Dalton Jones in 1932; he preceded her in death April 2, 1977. She married Homer Campbell in 1980; he preceded her in death February 7, 1998. Zelma was employed several years in Washington. She was an expert seamstress and homemaker. Zelma accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Janett Haney and a special son-in-law Kenneth of Violet Hill; three grandchildren, Debra Wilson and husband John of Independence, Missouri, Michael Haney and wife Robin of Violet Hill, and Anthony Haney of Federal Way, Washington; two great-grandsons, Steven and Kenny Haney of Violet Hill; one brother Ray Blevins and wife Sherry of Jonesboro; two sisters, Thera Moore of Melbourne and Lessie Johnson of Michigan; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dalton Jones and Homer Campbell; one daughter, Janice Rodman; son-in-law Hayden Rodman; one great-granddaughter, Sarah Wilson Thompson; four brothers, Olar Blevins, Leonard Blevins, Arvis Blevins, Wilson Blevins; four sisters, Jeffie Melton, Velda Blevins, Velma Blevins, and Phenia Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Elder Michael Haney officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Violet Hill under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne. (870) 368-4540
Pallbearers are John Wilson, Steven Haney, Kenny Haney, Bob Rector, Darrell Blevins, Wayne Hopper, and John Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Haney, J. F. Jones, and Steven Jones.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007.
