SPRINGDALE — Margarett Marie Carter, 98, of Springdale, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born in Anderson Flat, Ark., on June 1, 1912, to Elick and Ella Smithee.
She was a former food service worker, always loved gardening and having flower beds, and was very dedicated to the Lord in her later years.
Margarett is survived by two sons, Ray Trammell and wife, Naomi, of Siloam Springs, and Raymond "Ray" Gonce and wife, Linda, of Pea Ridge; two daughters, Mary Brewer and husband, James, of Rogers, and Joyce Phillips and husband, John, of Springdale; one sister, Geneva Grinder of Benton City, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Gonce; second husband, Aaron Carter; and three sons.
Many thanks to a local church for reaching out and for all the visits and prayers during her time at the nursing home, and to everyone at Circle of Life Hospice for their gracious and compassionate care.
Funeral service will be at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, with Pastor Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will be at Tucks Chapel Cemetery in Benton County.
