Hugh Benjamin McKennie, aged 71, of Cullendale, formerly of Hampton, died Wednesday at the Camden Hospital. He was a retired state employee. Survivors include a son, D. F. McKennie of Cullendale; five daughters, Mrs. Luther Sanders and Mrs. Herman Manning, both of Cullendale, Mrs. Jack Loveless of Hampton, Mrs. Ray Couch of Remondo Beach, Calif., Mrs. William Reddin of Placerville, Calif., 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Antioch Church at Hampton. Burial was at Pickett Cemetery by Benton Funeral Service. Services were conducted by Rev. James A. Henry and Rev. Doyle E. Baker. Pallbearers were H. A. Wilson, J. B. Cross, Jessie F. Ivy, Hugh Morgan, Cecil Jester, and Herman Patterson. (Camden News - July 20, 1961)
