Betty Jean Walker, 78, of Niles, Mich., formerly of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., daughter of the late Melvin E. and Edna (Little) Koontz, was born May 22, 1930, in Flora, Ill. She died Oct. 29, 2008, in South Bend, Ind. Betty was united in marriage to James Luther Walker on June 25, 1951, at DeQueen, Ark. She spent her working years as a school teacher. Betty was a member of the Franklin First Baptist Church in Franklin, Ark.
