Married Carol Jean Tate, April 25, 1953, Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas.

Billy Joe Yancey, son of the late Eldon and Epper Dockins Yancey, was born June 29, 1933 in Brockwell. He died on January 23, 2002. He was 68.
Billy Joe was united in marriage to Carol Jean Tate on April 25, 1953 in Calico Rock. To this union three children were born.
During his working years, he was self-employed as a farmer and a carpenter. He also served in the United States Army. He served as a deacon at the Highland First Assembly of God Church in Highland.
He is survived by his wife and companion of forty-eight years, Carol Yancey of the home; three sons, Bonnie Joe Yancey of Violet Hill; Stevie Gene Yancey of Jonesboro, Indiana, and Terry Lynn Yancey of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren; Joshua Yancey, Lindsey Yancey, Kara Yancey, Dawnyel Davis-Bissing, Jeremiah Yancey, Jerod Yancey and Lacey Yancey; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Henry Davis-Dissing and Noah Philip Yancey; two sisters, Bertha Mae Billingsley of Violet Hill and Georgia Gaye Ramsey of Shawnee, Kansas; along with a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were January 29, 2002 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Brother Tim Turner officiating. Pallbearers were Richard Hennessey, Clint Wiles, Charles Wiles, Dennis Sublett, Nathan Hubbard and Jessie Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Hickman, Glenn Broyles, Paul Kitch, Mark Alexander and Bill Sartin.
Interment was at the Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Memorials can be made to the Highland First AG Scholarship fund for ministerial students.
