Mrs. Eula Ethridge Holmes, 88, of Camden died Sunday at the hospital annex. She was a former resident of Hampton, and was a Baptist. Mrs. Holmes is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Jeffus of Hampton, Mrs. Alto Murphy of Lake Village, Mrs. Sallie Williamson of Camden and Mrs. Emily Polk of Smackover; four sons, C. E. Holmes and W. H. Holmes, both of Hampton, Jessie Holmes of Camden, Floyd Holmes of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Quencie Ethridge of Hampton; two sisters, Mrs. Fronnie Lockridge of Fordyce and Mrs. Sallie Reynolds of Hampton. Also 41 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Hampton with burial in Pickett Cemetery. (Camden News - February 1, 1966)
