William R. “Bill” Clement, 86, of Hot Springs died Wednesday March 9, 2011. He was born September 30, 1924 in Cass County, Illinois to Jess Henderson and Georgia Evelyn (Medlin) Clement. Bill worked in electrical maintenance at Arkansas Bank & Trust and Mid America Museum. He was of the Baptist faith, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion and loved to work in the garden. Bill is predeceased by his parents, wife, Ernestine B. Clement, two brothers, James Patterson Clement and Jessie Clement, Jr.
Survivors include wife, Betty Clement, of Hot Springs; son, Bill (Cheri) Clement, of Jacksonville, Illinois; daughter, Mary K. ( Mark) Lumos, of Cartersville, Georgia; step-sons, Ronald (Martha) Gartin, of Bellevue, Nebraska, Kent (Dee) Gartin, of Vilonia, Arkansas, and Terry ( Donna) Gartin, of Hot Springs; sisters, Evelyn B. (Edgar) Hish, of Virginia, Illinois, Hazel L. Jordan, of Havana, Illinois and Mildred J. Correll, of Jacksonville, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren and special niece, Linda Scofield.
Visitation is 9:00 a.m., Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with funeral services following at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Doug Tippit officiating. Burial is at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Lloyd Robertson, Steve Dennis, Kent Gartin, Joe Gartin, Jackie Youngblood and Richard Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are Chet Reeder, Dr. Daniel Owens, Dr. Fred Heineman, Lloyd Hill and Rita Haley.
