Mr. William Kermit Mandrell, 85, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Fayetteville.

He was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Datto to William Irvin and Mattie Breckenridge Mandrell. He was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran of World War II, having served in Africa and Italy, a retired vice president of manufacturing for Ely-Walker Manufacturing Co. and a member of the Old Wire Road Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Willodean Mandrell; a son, Bill Mandrell of Fayetteville; a daughter, Kathy Mandrell Van Landingham and husband Scott of Fayetteville; two sisters, Winnie White of Evansville, Ind., and Elizabeth Taylor of Erin, Tenn.; a brother, Allen Mandrell of Cookville, Tenn.; and one grandson, Will Van Landingham of Fayetteville.
