Mabel "Mae" Pittman, 88, of Batesville died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005.
Born April 2, 1916, in Big Flat, she was the daughter of J.R. and Lucy Smithee Corter. She was a retired nurse for Gray's Hospital, a member of the Spring Mill Quilters' Club and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Batesville.
Survivors include a son, Lonnie Mitchell of Cave City; a daughter, Pat Dosland of Batesville; four sisters, Maxine Tinkle of Mountain View, Euda Smith of Springdale, Girtha Hopper of Little Rock and Edith Best of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Mitch Mitchell and Greg Moser, both of Batesville, and Rondal Moser of Melbourne; two great-grandchildren, Jade Moser of Batesville and Brandon Moser of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, D.A. Mitchell and Clarence Pittman; four brothers, Claudus Corter, Roy Corter, Junior Corter and Robert Corter; and a daughter, Charlene Mitchell.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Willis-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with Kenneth Best officiating. Burial service will be at 2 p.m. at Levisey Flats Cemetery in Mountain View.
Pallbearers will be Joel Hopper, Jerry Hopper, Rondal Moser, Greg Moser, Billy Huff and Darrell Best.
