Funeral services for Dimple Avey, 86, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Ark. Burial will be in the Levisy Flat Cemetery in Mountain View, Ark.
Mrs. Avey died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at her daughter's home in Eudora.
She was born Aug. 27, 1922, in New Nata, Ark., the daughter of Andy and Ida Long Trammell.
Mrs. Avey was a homemaker and had lived in the Mountain View area all her life until she moved to Eudora 3 1/2 years ago.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in New Nata, Ark.
She married Willie J. Avey on Jan. 12, 1939, in Mountain View, Ark. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1966.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jay and Everal Avey, and two brothers, Ewing and Knuckles Trammell.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores Gabriel and husband Robert and Sharon Lawson and husband Ken, all of Eudora; one son, Kennard Avey and wife Karen, of Lawrence; a daughter-in-law, Lois Avey, of Mountain View, Ark; seven grandchildren, Tim Avey, Shawnua Lawson Stover, Shane Avey, Bobby Gabriel, Amanda Avey Grosdidier, Kendi Lawson Baker and Jim Gabriel; 12 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Alexis, Tyler, Lacey, CJ, Kade, Lauren, Tucker, Carter, Rhett and Harley; one great-great-grandchild, Lila; two sisters-in-law, Grace Trammell and Shirley Trammell; and six nieces and four nephews.
