Obituary:
Former Ottumwan Harley C. Shedenhelm, 62, Mountain Home, Ark., died Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack at his brother's home. He was born Dec. 19, 1914 in Iowa County to Melvin and Bertha Cheney Shedenhelm. He was a former John Morrell and Co. and John Deere Ottumwa Works employee. He was self employed before moving from this area.
He married Helen Irene Jones December 20, 1935. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Robert, Ronald, Stanley, and Steven all of Fontana, Calif. and Daniel of Des Moines.; four daughters, Mrs. Linda Stogdill of Tunnel Hill, Ga, Karen Shedenhelm of Des Moines, Mrs. Jo Ann Meeker and Cheryl of Ottumwa.; 18 grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene and Kenneth of Ottumwa and Dale of Mountain Home; three sisters, Leona Morehouse, Eva Rounceville, and Rachael Edgington of Ottumwa.
He recently married Velma Sisney November 26, 1976 of Mountain Home. She survives as do five stepchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McClure Funeral Home in Mountain Home.
