Purple Heart
Ed was a career soldier in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of First Sergeant. He saw combat duty in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star for Valor, the Air Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars.
