Melbourne Times, Melbourne, Arkansas, December 25, 1947:
Claude W. Gaston, age 62 years, died at his home, at Franklin Sunday. He was a merchant, a member of the Baptist Church and had lived in this section his entire life.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Miss Nina Gaston and Mrs. Tom Timpson both of Franklin; a brother, M. O. Gaston of Oklahoma, two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Weathers of Salem and Mrs. W. H. Campbell of Springdale.
Funeral services were held at the Violet Hill Baptist Church Sunday afternoon by Rev. Hugh Cooper and burial was in the Violet Hill Cemetery.
