Johanna Holzworth Nelson age 92, of Cleveland, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013. She was born December 10, 1920, in Galveston, Texas, a daughter of John Wilhelm Holzworth and Johanna Pauline Oest Holzworth. She was of the Lutheran faith and the widow of Charles Stephen Nelson.
Survivors include her sons, Steve Nelson and wife Gwen of Harrison, and Tom Nelson of Cleveland; daughters, JoAnn Underwood and husband Keith of Cleveland, and Sherry Kaufman and husband Gary of St. Vincent; sister, Carolina Sample of Santa Fe, Texas; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Eddie and John Holzworth; three sisters, Elizabeth Holzworth, Louise Garibaldi, and Clara Hayman; and one daughter-in-law, Peggy Nelson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 18, at the Harris Chapel with Jimmy Dale Jones officiating. Burial will be at Reid Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Hospice or Reid Cemetery.
