Robert Harlan Agee, 71, of Ozark passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his home.

He was a retired general manager of the Arkansas Valley Electric Co-op and a member of Grenades Chapel Church. Robert, a native of Ozark, began his career in October 1960 as an assistant work order clerk. He served in various positions during his 40-year career, including work order supervisor, district manager of the Waldron district office and his last 20 years as general manager of the Ozark headquarters. During this time he served as former chairman of the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Inc. (AECI) Board and Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) Board and as former director ERMCO. He also served as former director of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives. He served as president of the Ozark Recreation Club, a member of the Mercy Foundation of Development Council and president of the Ozark FFA Community Supporters.

He was born June 18, 1939, in Ozark to William "Harlan" Agee and Susie Lovell Agee and was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services was 10 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Noggle officiating and burial at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

He is survived by his wife, Arminia Smither Agee of Ozark; a daughter Roberta Ellison and her husband, Bruce of Van Buren; two sisters, Willene Blackburn of Eudora, Kan., and Katy Agee of Ozark; two grandchildren, Brook Ellison of North Little Rock and Eric Ellison of Van Buren; and two nieces.

Active pallbearers were Kent Reeding, Charles Ray White, James Hanna, Randy Dickerson and Eric Ellison. Honorary pallbearers were current and retired employees of Arkansas Valley Electric.
