She was born, one of twelve children in Edmond, OK. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cornelius was preceded in death by her parents: William and Dona Westerfield Taylor; her husband: Burlin Cornelius; one daughter: Verna Louise Guyear and one granddaughter: Fredia Leathers. She is survived by one daughter: La Verne Roan of DeQueen and one son and daughter-in-law: Melvin and Margaret Cornelius of Ashdown; one sister: Ruth Roberts of Owensboro, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
