Funeral of Johnie Hicks Held Here Monday

Funeral services for Miss Johnie Geraldine Hicks, aged 13, who died at the Rollins Hospital at Gassville, Saturday, July 26, were conducted Monday afternoon in the Community building at Pleasant Valley with Rev. Creese of Flippin officiating. The Roller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Rose Lawn cemetery at this place.

Death came suddenly, caused by complications following an operation for appendicitis. She entered the hospital July 17, and on the day of her death seemed well on the road to recovery.

Miss Hicks was born January 8 at Calico Rock and lived in this vicinity until about a year and a half ago when the family moved to Flippin. She attended the First Baptist Church and Sunday school at Flippin. She had many friends in and around Calico Rock and made many new friends at Flippin.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hicks, three brothers, James Hicks of Calico Rock and Billie Hicks of Flippin and Harlin Hicks of Flippin and two sisters, Mrs. James Stoner and Mrs. W. B. Martin of Flippin.
