Douglas Lee Willis, age 56, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007. Born on June 19, 1951 in Batesville, Arkansas, he was the son of William "Bill" Lee Willis and Thelma "Lorine" Caraway Willis. He was a past employee for the City of Batesville and was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his mother, Lorine Willis of Lakeland, FL; three sons, Billy Lee Douglas of Floral, Raymond Douglas of Sulphur Rock and Tommy Willis of Cabot; one daughter, Jeanna Ray Pearson of Batesville; nine brothers, Quinton Willis of Edgmont, Charles "Chuck" Willis of Batesville, W.L. Willis of Bellflower, CA, Billy Ray Willis of Green Bay, WI, Paul David Willis of Oak Hills, CA, Phineas Willis of Rosemead, CA, Glen Willis of Sulphur Rock, Hardy Willis of Spring Mill and Ernest McCoy of MS; eight sisters, Hazel Azevedd of Fresno, CA, Lela May Lively of Templeton, CA; Peggy Hopper of Greers Ferry, Georgetta Reeves of Batesville, Sue English of Batesville; Barbara Thompson of Batesville, Fay Everett of Batesville and Zelma Ellerby of Lakland, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father; one grandson, William Douglas; one brother and four sisters. Services are Saturday, December 15, 10:00 a.m., at the Willis-Hays Chapel in Batesville with Kenny Tharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery near Bethesda under the direction of Willis-Hays Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers are Christopher Willis, Jason Willis, Chad Willis, Jerry Willis, Charles Lawson, Dustin Willis and Martin Pearson.
Honorary pallbearers are Fred Goodman.
Visitation is Friday evening from 5-7 p.m.
