Obituary
Joe F Watts Dies at Bexar Tuesday Night
Joe F Watts, age 67, well known citizen of Bexar and former resident of Calico Rock, died at his home Tuesday night following an illness of only a few hours. He had been feeling as well as usual the early part of the day and was at work gathering corn when he was stricken. He died about 9 o’clock p.m.
Mr. Watts was born and reared in this county, and had been a resident of Bexar for 17 years. In 1912 he was married to Miss Pearl Sears of Bexar. He was in the employ of the Missouri Pacific Railroad for several years, and served as assistant agent at Calico Rock for a number of years, later holding positions at other points on this division. He retired from railroad service about 18 years ago.
He was a member of the Methodist church, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving, are his wife; three sons, Clyde Watts of Ft Smith, Arkansas; Ray and Max Wade of the home; one daughter, Kathleen, of the home; one brother, Sam Watts of Benton, Ark., and two sisters, Mrs. James Huett of Viola, Ark., and Mrs. John Dixon of Wasco, California.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Bexar, Thursday afternoon, services being conducted by J.E. Williamson, minister of the Pineville Presbyterian church. Graveside services were conducted by the Masonic Order. Burial was in the Bexar cemetery, with the Higginbotham Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
