Obituary

Mrs. Marie D. Oldfield age 30, native of Izard County died at her home at 1709 North Johnson St., Springfield, Mo., at 1:30 p.m. January 23. She was born and reared at Violet Hill, where she attended high school. She was a member of the Violet Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday January 27 at Violet Hill by the Rev. Stanley Cooper of Batesville, Ark., and L. H. Bone of Paragould in charge of song service with Mrs. Ruth Webb of Oxford at the piano.

Burial was under direction of Higginbotham. Surviving are her husband Guy Oldfield, a daughter, Barbara Janet, her father, S. G. Dillard of Wiseman, step-mother, four brothers, Earl and Edison Dillard of Oxford; Troy of Lester, Mo.; and Arnold of Springfield, Mo.; a step-sister Mrs. Hubert Green of Mammoth Springs and a host of relatives and friends.

Other relatives attending were; Leslie, Elton, Lavaun and Jim Barnes of Bay, Ark.; Mrs. Emma Robinson, Mrs. Lina White and Champ Rodgers of Pottersville, Mo.; Mrs. J. L. Dillard, Mr. and Mrs. Verna Dillard of Mammoth Springs; Mrs. Bertina Campbell of Thayer, Mo., Hershel Rodgers and son of Camp, Ark., Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Oldfield of Cross Timbers, Mo., Miss Winnie Oldfield and Mrs. Edd Mahan and daughter of Springfield, Mo.

Bearers were Claude Caldwell, Earl Edmonston, Graden Bone, Cecil Helm, Jeff Hailer and Lowell Harber.
