Geanie Sue Sorrels Tackett, 81, of Atkins died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was born December 23, 1927, in Atkins, and was the daughter of William Homer and Sula Barrett Sorrels. She retired from ConAgra and was a member of Atkins First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Arlie and Carl Sorrels and 2 sisters, Lea Pritchett and Jessie Elders.
Survivors include her children and spouses; Larry and Teresa Tackett of Atkins, Gail King and Don Jones of Atkins and David and Patty Tackett of Hot Springs; 1 sister, Mae Patterson of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Kevin Bailey, Terri Ramsey, Bryan Tackett, Josh Tackett, Courtney Tackett, Chris Tackett, Brooke Reed, Whitney Reed; great grandchildren, Emma Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Ella Bailey, Tanner Ramsey and Tess Ramsey.
Funeral service was held 10:00 AM Friday, May 1, 2009, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Lee Chronister officiating. Burial was at Childers Cemetery.
