Melbourne Times, Melbourne, Arkansas, March 24, 1960:
Wm. Lytle Gaston Dies In Korea
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Gaston of Violet Hill have been notified by the War Department that their son, A-3c William Lytle Gaston, had passed away in Korea on March 19. Cause of his death is not known. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending arrival of the body.

Services Held For Violet Hill Youth
William Lytle Gaston, Jr., of Violet Hill passed away March 19 in Korea where he was serving in the U. S. Air Force.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Gaston of Violet Hill, three brothers, Rex Gaston of Illinois, Carrol Gaston of Kansas City, Mo., and Jackie Gaston of Violet Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Sue Dunivan of Melbourne, Mrs. Bertie Carr of Little Rock, Mrs. Cliffogene Winfree and Mrs. Elizabeth Platt, both of Illinois, his grandfather, Lee Waggner of Violet Hill.
Services were held in the Fairview Church at Violet Hill Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Remmel Rowden of Oxford officiated. Burial was in the Violet Hill cemetery with Crouch Funeral Home in charge.
