Services For Mrs. Rena Pierce Held Sunday

Rena Cooksey Pierce was born in Buffalo, Mo., Sept 11, 1874 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grace Mathis, Violet Hill, Ark., June 1, 1957 at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 15 days.

She was married to T. W. Pierce Dec 25, 1892. To this union seven children were born. Her husband and four children preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Virgie Jones, Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Grace Mathis of Violet Hill, one son, Arch also of Violet Hill, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was converted at an early age in life and has lived a constant Christian life.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at Violet Hill church with Sister Sallie Jones of Violet Hill assisted by Rev. Maddick of Washington officiating.

Burial was made in Violet Hill Cemetery under direction of the Hall Funeral Home.
