Mary (Marge) Marguerite Jacobelli, a long-time resident of the Mountain Home area, passed away Saturday, June 3 at Gassville Therapy and Living Center.
Mary Jacobelli was born July 9, 1917 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Soon after, her family moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio. On June 11, 1936, she graduated from Mount Vernon High School and then attended a local Business College, graduating on August 1, 1938. After college Mary began working for Cooper-Bessemer Company where she worked as the Executive Secretary to the President. On February 14, 1958, she married Peter Raymond Jacobelli in Newport News, Virginia and they had one son together, Robert Jacobelli. In later years, Mary went on to work for the government in civil service while stationed in France with her husband. After returning to Mountain Home, she worked as an insurance secretary and bookkeeper.
Mary enjoyed many activities including playing cards, dancing, bowling, golf and tennis. She was well traveled, going on numerous trips to Cuba, as well as the Canadian backwaters to fish with friends. Later in life, her favorite pastimes were watching game shows, solving crossword puzzles, and playing bingo.
She is survived by her son, Robert Jacobelli, daughter-in-law, Inita Jacobelli and two grandchildren, Kristin and Austin Jacobelli.
Mary was preceded in death by her father (Robert Cloyst Underhill), mother (Lillian Baker Underhill), brother (Robert Burk Underhill) and husband (Peter Raymond Jacobelli).
Visitation for Mary will be Noon- 9 pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Roller Funeral Home with family present from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be 11 am Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Mountain Home Cemetery, Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating.
