Springdale News-Randolph H. Morriss was born March 14, in Wilson County, Tenn., departed this life Sept 1, 1918, at age 86 years, five months and seventeen days. Brother Morriss was married twice. His first wife died May 10, 1866. On October 1, 1867, he was married the second time. To this reunion ten children were born, all of whom are living. He leaves these children and their mother to mourn his departure.
Brother Morriss was member of the Baptist Church something like 55 years, and was a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church at the time of his death, having united with the church 37 years ago. In the death of brother Morriss the church has lost one of its very best members, the family a true father, the wife a faithful husband, and the county one of its best citizens.
Brother Morriss was loved by all who knew him. For some years he was not able to go to church, but he always gave his means to support the cause he so dearly loved. He was a doer of the work. God giveth and God taketh away. Mother don't weep for in Jesus he sleeps. Children don't cry, you will meet father on high.
Funeral was conducted by the writer.
