Jimmy Horton, age 95, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, in Mountain Home. He was born December 20, 1920, in Marshall, Arkansas to Roy G. and Ruby D. (Wilcox) Horton.

Mr. Horton served in the United States Air Force. He married Charlene Passmore September 20, 1940, in Leslie, Arkansas. He was the owner/operator of the former Horton Jewelry in Mountain Home for 38 years. He is a member of the College and North Streets Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 40 years.

Mr. Horton is survived by a daughter Charlotte Horton of Mountain Home, a son Dr. Joe Horton and wife Kathy of Fayetteville, two grandchildren Douglas Horton and wife Jennifer and Allison Adams and husband Anthony and a great granddaughter Brianna Adams all of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers J.G. Horton and Everett Horton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the College and North Streets Church of Christ with Ken Burton and Bill Dillon officiating. A visitation will be Friday from Noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Mountain Home Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House or Truth for Today.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Charlene Horton, age 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
She was born June 20, 1922, at Gilbert, Arkansas, to Charles B. and Walsie M. Nix Passmore. On September 20, 1940, she married Jimmy Horton at Leslie, Arkansas and followed her husband in all his military assignments during World War II. She moved to Mountain Home in 1955 from Harrison when she and her husband purchased Horton Jewelry Store. Mrs. Horton was an active member of the Mountain Home Church of Christ at College and North Streets as long as her health allowed. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain her family and friends.
Survivors are her husband: Jimmy Horton: of the home; one son: Joe (Kathy) Horton: Fayetteville, Arkansas; one daughter: Charlotte Horton: Mountain Home; one brother: Dr. C.B. Passmore: Mountain Home; two grandchildren: Douglas (Jennifer) Horton and Allison (Anthony) Adams; a great-granddaughter: Brianna Adams: all of Fayetteville; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Lenore Peterson.
Visitation was Saturday at Roller Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Mountain Home Church of Christ with interment in the Mountain Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Children's Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450.
