Newton Jasper "Newt" Geaslin, Jr. was born the son of Newton Jasper Geaslin, Sr. and Malissa Tubbs in Texas, probably Ellis Co. The family moved to Craighead County, Arkansas about 1882. He married Ara Belle Burgess in 1896 in Jackson Co. Ark. Newt raised his family in Jackson County, Ark., and farmed with mules until he was 75 years old. Newt and Belle's children were Morris Andrew (who died at birth), Kimberlin (who also died at birth) his twin, Katie Jane, Kenneth Cornelius, Louis and Thomas (who both died before reaching maturity), Ruthie Mae (who died before she was two), Raymond Helois, Jena Mae, Ora Lee, and Violet (who also died young). Newt was a grand old man.
