Margaret Alice Myers, 68, of Parsons, a longtime Parsons school music instructor, died at her home, Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005. Her death was unexpected. She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Des Arc, Ark., to Cecil E. and June (Letsch) Myers. She received her bachelor of music education and master of music degrees from the University of Arkansas. She taught string instruments in school music departments, first in the El Dorado, Ark., and then Parsons public schools for nearly half a century. She was a member and church organist of Trinity Lutheran Church of Parsons. Survivors include two brothers, Col. William A. Myers and his wife, Satsuki, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Lt. Col. Milo G. Myers and his wife, Ellen, of Albuquerque, N.M.; a nephew, Mark A. Myers of Bel Air, Md.; two nieces, Yuri Cole of Woodbridge, Va., and Eleni Sims of Albuquerque, N.M.; two great-nephews; and four great-nieces. The service will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons with the Rev. Ken Lott officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Friends may call at their convenience. Memorials to either Lutherans for Life or Pipe Organ Fund of Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, Parsons.
