Harvey William Smith
Mr. Harvey W. “Cooney” Smith, age 91 of Monkey Run passed away Monday, May 19, 2009 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Harvey W. Smith was born May 30, 1917 in Baxter County to Charles Edward and Dora (Sinor) Smith. Mr. Smith enjoyed family, gardening, and hunting, especially coon hunting.
Mr. Harvey W. Smith is survived by one son, Noel S. Smith (Nancy) of Springfield, Missouri, two daughters: Virginia Reed (Jay) and Patsy Treat (JR) both of Monkey Run, Arkansas, one brother; Guy Smith (Wilma) of Ash Flat, Arkansas, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Katheryn Lorene (Gardner) Smith and second wife: Jessie Louise (Fowler) Smith, parents, two brothers, and five sisters. Also surviving is a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Smith will be Noon - 9 PM Friday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 6 – 8 PM. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery with Pastor Gene Carson officiating. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
