Obituary from Benton Courier 1/10/1983 pg 4: "Mrs Louise Edens, aged 62, of Benton died Sunday at Saline Memorial Hospital. She was a retired LPN and a member of First Baptist Church of Benton. Survivors include her husband, William Milton Edens; two sons, Leroy Gattin of Hutchinson, Ks., and Sammy Edens of Benton; one daughter, Mrs Ina Eaves of Benton; 3 brothers, Hawley J Shoppach and Sam Shoppach, both of Benton, and Paul Shoppach of Harmony Grove; and 1 sister, Mrs Gladys Basham of Hot Springs. Funeral will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Ballards' Funeral Home with the Rev Thomas Tutor officiating. Burial will be at New Rosemont Cem. Pallbearers will be Ken Hughes, Dr Paul Hogue, Mike Shoppach, Kenny Riggan, Dr J D Wright, Jim Moody and Bud Richards."

On-Line Benton Courier Obituary: William M. Edens, 83, of Benton died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005. He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Ora, Ms., to W. E. and Ina Turnage Edens. Mr. Edens was a Methodist and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2256 of Benton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Shoppach Edens; and his parents. Survivors include one daughter, Ina Eaves and husband Ed of Woodbridge, Va.; two sons, Sammy Edens of Benton and Leroy Gattin and wife Martha of Hutchinson, Kan.; one brother, Donald Edens of Germany; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Rosemont Memorial Park with the Rev. Joe Campbell officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Saline Memorial Hospice, 1 Medical Park, Benton, AR 72015.
