David Carroll Powell, 53, of Cabot died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011. He was born June 29, 1957 in Barstow, Calif., to the late John and Ethel Dobbs Powell. Mr. Powell was a forklift operator for Arkansas Precast for 32 ½ years. He loved to camp and fish. He was a good father, grandfather and husband who loved his children and grandchildren very much. Mr. Powell is survived by his friend and former wife of 24 years, Patricia Powell, his children, Steve Powell, Rick Powell and Heather Powell, all of Jacksonville and Nickie Honeywell of Cabot as well as his brothers and sisters, Johnny Powell, Snookie Powell, Phillip Powell, Opal Crouch, Naomi Grubbs, Sheila Billingsley and Lisa Powell. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shane, Stephanie, Megan and Caden Powell, Jakob and Hunter Honeywell and Gracie Radak. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Curt Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park under direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
