Basil Milton Hickman

Funeral services for Mr. Basil M. Hickman, age 80 of Monkey Run will be Saturday, 2:00 PM at the Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church with burial in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, noon-9:00 PM at the Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 PM. Mr. Hickman passed away August 11 in Springfield, MO.

Mr. Basil Hickman was born August 8, 1924 in Longsdale, MO to Floyd and Faye Newman Hickman. Basil married Dixie Fuller October 10, 1942 in Ellis, AR. He was a mechanic for 34 years for Dolese Brothers Corporation. Mr. and Mrs. Hickman are members of the Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Basil Hickman is survived by his wife Dixie Hickman of the home; Sons: Norman Hickman and his wife Linda of Wichita, KS and Bill Hickman and his wife Paula of Monkey Run, AR; Daughter: Shirley Reed and her husband Bob of Monkey Run, AR; Sister: Shirley Whitfield of Cheyenne, WY; 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Hickman was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Arrangements are by the Roller Funeral Home.
