MORRIS, John B. - John B. Morris, who had been afflicted with cancer for some three years past, died Wednesday evening of last week at his home in the east part of town. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, being conducted by Eld. Edward Hale, the remains being interred in Friendship cemetery east of town. The burial was under the auspices of the G.A.R. of which order deceased was a member. Deceased was born in Indiana about sixty years ago and had been a resident of Arkansas some twenty years. The family formerly resided near Sonora and in 1894 moved to Drake's Creek, Madison County, and three years ago came to Springdale. It was about three years ago that the cancer began its deadly work, breaking out in his mouth and everything possible was done to stay the disease but without success. Mr. Morris was a member of the Christian church and while he realized that his death was only a question of time he calmly awaited the end, death having no terrors for him. He is survived by a widow and three sons, G.E. Morris, who resides at Galena, Kansas, and Thomas and Robert, who have been making their home with their parents. The family request The News to extend their thanks to all for the kindness shown them during their bereavement
