Married Maud O. Weathers, December 19, 1895, Izard County, Arkansas.
Excerpts from story in Melbourne Times, Melbourne, Arkansas, April 9, 1936, telling of the tornado that caused extensive damage in Izard County and killed William Henry Gaston:
Twister Takes Mile-Wide 18 Miles Long, Wrecking Scores of Dwellings, Barns and Garages.
W. H. Gaston of LaCrosse Killed When $5,000 Stone Dwelling Was Demolished; Four Others Injured, Three to Hospital
W. H. Gaston 60, farmer and stockman of LaCrosse, was crushed to death when his $5,000 stone dwelling was demolished. His wife and daughter, Miss Loas Marie, 18, were injured, Mrs. Gaston seriously. They were removed to Dr. Gray's Infirmary, Batesville.
Mr. Gaston was buried at Violet Hill Tuesday afternoon. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Troy of San Antonio, Tex., Clyde, Guy and Carl of LaCrosse and four daughters; Mrs. A. M. Carter of Batesville, Loas Marie Gaston and Mrs. J. C. Hanley of LaCrosse and Mrs. Robt. Harris Landers of Sage.
