Married (2) Mrs. Carrie Richardson, May 24, 1914, Izard County, Arkansas.

Melbourne Times, Melbourne, Arkansas, October 16, 1947:

John Thomas Hanley age 81, of near Sage, died in a Little Rock hospital Sunday. He was a retired farmer and stockman and had lived in this section all his life. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for many years.

Surviving are seven sons, Alpha of Melbourne; John of West Plains, Frank of Wenatchee, Wash., Clarence of Bartlesville, Okla., Remmell of Santa Rosa, Calif., Price of Zion and Ashley Hanley of Renton, Wash.; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Guiltner of LaCrosse, Mrs. Lucy Beach of Sage, Mrs. Mary Wayne Remington of Bartlesville, Okla., and Mrs. Maude Tomlinson of Sage; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Brightwell of California and Mrs. Della Royles of this place; a brother, A. J. Hanley of Newport; 34 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at Violet Hill Tuesday afternoon by Elder G. W. Howard and Rev. J. H. Richardson and burial was at the cemetery there.

Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas, October 17, 1947:

John T. Hanley, aged 81 of near Sage, life-long resident of this county, died in a Little Rock hospital Sunday. The funeral was held at Violet Hill Tuesday afternoon, with Elder C. W. Howard and Rev J. E. Richardson of Melbourne officiating. Burial was in Violet Hill cemetery. Surviving are seven sons and four daughters.
