Beulah:
Born: January 11, 1911
Died: July 28, 2009

Beulah M. Raczniak, 98, a resident of the Care Manor Nursing Home and formerly a resident of the Monroe House of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed through this life onto her next journey today. Beulah was one of the “Great Generation”. She was born on 11 January 1911, in Glenwood, Illinois, to the late Clara and George Hudson.

Beulah is preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur W. Lundahl, her second husband, Ted J. Raczniak, brothers, George and Elmer, sister Veora (Babe), and a son, Robert. Beulah retired from the Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1971, after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers for more than a half of a century and the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Beulah lived a full and vibrant life, providing positive inspiration to all who knew her. There was no greater love than that she gave to her family and friends, and those same people loved her equally as much. Beulah was a devoted mother to her three sons and each of their spouses, the late Robert W. Lundahl and his wife, Pat, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Glen A. Lundahl and his wife, Roberta, of Venice, Florida, and Dr. Timothy J. Raczniak and his wife, Dianna, of Raleigh, North Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandsons, Bradley, Brandt, Mark, Paul, Gary, Gregory, and Kenneth; three granddaughters, Gail, Kelly, and Valerie; three great-grandsons, Chad, Grant and Harrison, and three great-granddaughters, Alexis, Ginavieve, and Savannah.

What is important to remember about Beulah is the legacy of love she has left with everyone who knew her. She was happiest when helping others and was a woman who touched countless lives. We admired her simplicity and integrity. She never asked for anything, and gave so much. Beulah was a great encourager to most everyone she knew, regardless of their place in life. To remember her, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. “When we cast our bread upon the water, we can presume that someone downstream whose face we may never see will benefit from our actions” – Maya Angelou. Beulah’s life was lived very much like this passage from Walt Whitman: “Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, and give alms to every one that asks…have patient and indulgence toward the people…and your very flesh shall be a great poem”. Poetry is life! And life is a circle of poetry which travels into death and back around into life again. The Season’s Sunset for Beulah is simply captured in a verse by Mary Sarton – “I think of the trees and how they simply let go, let fall the riches of a season, how without grief they can let go and go deep into their roots for renewal and sleep.” How you must feel as you awaken in your new home! We thank God upon every remembrance of you. You will live in our hearts.
