Son of Henry C. & Louisa Elizabeth Blevins Duren.
First Wife--Glenn Rhea Billingsley Duren (Married July 28, 1924, Mammoth Spring, Fulton County, Arkansas).
Second Wife--Anna Duren.

Obituary from The White River Currant, Calico Rock, Arkansas:

Robert Carroll Duren of Melbourne was born January 6, 1904 in Violet Hill. He died Friday December 27, 1991 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, at the age of 87.

He spent his working years as a farmer and was employed by the Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne until he retired in 1967. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Melbourne. He resided in the Pioneer Nursing Home.

His survivors include his wife, Anna Duren of the Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne; 1 daughter, Montine Robards of Springfield, Missouri; 1 grandson, James Hedger; 3 step-sons, Willard Pierson of Wichita, Kansas, Drexel Pierson of Cabot, Vaughn Pierson of Mountain Home; 1 step-daughter, Barbara Gillihan of Illinois; 10 step-grandchildren; 13 great-step-grandchildren; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. Duren and Elizabeth Blevins; 1 brother; 3 sisters; 5 half sisters and 3 half brothers.

Services were held Sunday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Melbourne, with Doyne Robertson and J. C. Montgomery officiating.

Pallbearers were Raymond Vaughn, J. D. Marchant, Fred Blankenship, W. H. Tomlinson, H. R. Waggoner and Dean Floyd.

Burial was in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Violet Hill under the direction of the Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
