Milam(Milum)b.abt.1835 Coffee Co.TN; d.May 30 1864 Fayetteville,Searcy Co.AR and
is buried?;dau of John Milam & Mary Burrell; the son of Thomas Milam & Elizabeth
Talbert. Three children: Emeline Thacker b.Dec 4 1856; James Thomas Thacker
b.Nov 8 1859 Jasper Co MO and d.Feb 26 1931 Newton Co MO; and John Washington
Thacker b. May 11 1864 AR.
William enlisted in the First Arkansas Cavalry (Union) on Aug 27 1863 Camp
Lawson, Cassville,MO. He was taken prisoner Dec 25 1863 at Richland Creek,
Searcy Co. AR. Absent for roll call with Company "H" in March 1864 and listed as
killed in action. In April 1864, listed on Berry Hospital Records,
Springfield,MO, recovering from wounds and rejoins his unit on May 5 1864. He
was discharged Aug 25 1865 at Fayetteville, AR. On Sept 9 1866 in Searcy Co,
William m.(2) Eliza Jane Farris b. Sept 11 1827 York Co. SC; d Nov 24 1897 and
is buried at the Thacker Cemetery; dau of Robert Miller Faris & Mary Falls. Four
children; Mary C Thacker b. Oct 1 1867;Harvey A Thacker b.Jan 17 1869; Elender
Margrette Thacker b. Jan 5 1871; and William Robert Thacker b. Mar 21 1873.
William Robert m. Susie Jan Standage and they had ten children."
