Charles Hess, 69, of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, December 21, 2006. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating; visitation 12:00 p.m. until service time; entombment to follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens, military honors provided by VFW Post #3246.

Mr. Hess was born to Homer and Delina (Hickman) Hess on December 8, 1937 in New Cumberland, West Virginia. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Charles drove a school bus and owned and operated a vending business during his working years. He and his wife Dorothy were married 18 years, and they retired to Mountain Home in August of 2005 from Yucaipa, California. A member of Mountain Home Seventh-Day Adventist Church, bible studies were a passion for him.

Charles is survived by his wife Dorothy Hess of the home; daughters Cheryl Perine of Tennessee, Lisa (Bruce) Coonrod of California, and Suzi (Chuck) Martin of Ohio; Son Chuck (Debbie) Hess of Tennessee; stepson Jeff Earls of California; stepdaughter Margie Earls of Oklahoma; sister Delinda (Larry) Sump of Mountain Home; 18 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; sister-in-law Alice Morse; and brother-in-law John (Judy) Morse.
